ICAgile and AI Training in Hong Kong
Hong Kong is home to 11,070 companies whose parent company sits outside the city, and together they employ about 509,000 people. Many teams here report into a head office in the Mainland, the United States, Japan or Europe, so their work runs across reporting lines, languages and time zones every day. The practical question is how a regional team keeps decisions moving when the people who approve them sit somewhere else.

Why teams in Hong Kong come to us
Regional offices that serve two masters
Mainland China, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom and Singapore are the leading home countries for overseas parent companies with operations in Hong Kong. Teams in these offices often take priorities from a global head office and a Mainland business at the same time. A shared way of planning, prioritising and reviewing work gives both sides the same picture without adding meetings.
Banks and brokers using AI under regulator watch
The HKMA and Cyberport selected 27 generative AI use cases from 20 banks for the second cohort of the GenA.I. Sandbox, with trials starting in early 2026, and the SFC set out its expectations for licensed corporations using generative AI language models in a November 2024 circular. That means AI work in finance here is judged on governance and human review as much as on speed. Teams need people who can use AI tools well and explain the controls around them.
A tighter labour market that AI is reshaping
The Labour and Welfare Bureau's September 2026 mid-term update projects a manpower shortage of around 130,000 by 2028, while clerical support roles are expected to show a surplus as routine admin work moves to AI. With fewer people to hire, companies get more from retraining the staff they already have. Product, facilitation and AI skills let existing staff move into the roles that are hard to fill.

Funding and paying for training in Hong Kong
The New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme, run by the Vocational Training Council, may help Hong Kong registered companies pay for staff training in advanced technologies, and it can support non-local courses. Since 1 August 2025 it matches company spending 1:1 up to HK$250,000 per company each financial year, and each trainee must be a full-time employee who is a Hong Kong permanent resident. Check with the NITTP Secretariat at the VTC whether a specific AI course qualifies before you plan around it. Source.

What ICP means, and where to start

Where to start, by role
- Scrum Masters and team leads: ICP-ATF (US$679), then ICP-ACC (US$849).
- Agile coaches: ICP-ACC, then ICP-ENT (US$899) or ICP-SYS (US$999).

Nearby: Macau and Taiwan
Teams in Macau and Taiwan join the same live online cohorts as Hong Kong and pay in US dollars at checkout. Both use UTC+8 with no daylight saving, so every class time reads exactly the same in Macau, Taipei and Hong Kong.
How a first engagement usually runs in Hong Kong
For a Hong Kong regional office, a sensible start is a leadership session for the regional heads, because they sit between a Mainland business and a global head office and need to agree what changes first. A first cohort then follows for one business unit, often Foundations of AI for a team already testing AI under HKMA or SFC expectations, with a train the trainer track if other offices in the region will follow.
Common starting points here: Foundations of AI (ICP-FAI), Leading with Agility (ICP-LEA), Agile Team Facilitation (ICP-ATF).
