Take the assessment
Choose the option that most honestly reflects how you work today, not how you wish you worked. There are no right answers and nothing is stored. When you have answered all eight questions, select "See my result" to view your readiness band and a suggested pathway.
What the four dimensions mean
The questions map to the four pillars of the ICAgile agile coaching competency model. Each pillar represents a distinct capability you draw on at different moments, and strong coaches develop range across all four rather than depth in just one.
Agile mindset and lean thinking
Coaching values and principles, not just ceremonies. The ability to explain why a practice exists and adapt it to the context in front of you.
Facilitation and teaching
Designing and holding space so a group can think, decide, and learn together, including the harder moments of conflict and disagreement.
Professional coaching
Using a coaching stance, open questions, presence, and self-awareness to help people and teams reach and own their own solutions.
Team and system development
Growing team capability over time, working across the wider system with leaders and structures, and making yourself progressively less needed.
How the scoring bands work
Each question is worth zero to three points, so your total falls between 0 and 24. The bands below translate that total into a readiness level and a suggested next step. The result is a guide for reflection, not a formal evaluation or certification.
| Score | Readiness band | What it suggests |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 9 | Foundation | You are building core agile understanding. Start with fundamentals and facilitation before moving into a dedicated coaching track. |
| 10 to 17 | Developing | You have a working coaching stance and want to deepen professional coaching and mentoring skills. |
| 18 to 24 | Advanced | You coach with range and are ready to lead transitions or coach at the enterprise level. |
Recommended pathways by band
Whichever band you land in, the goal is the same: a deliberate sequence that builds mindset, facilitation, and professional coaching in the right order. Your result above links the most relevant courses, and the full catalogue with dates and pricing is on the Public Academy.
Pricing is shown in your local currency on each course page. If you want to add modern, AI-assisted coaching skills on top of any track, the AI upskilling micro-credentials pair well with the Agile Coaching and Coaching Agile Transitions programmes. For team leads moving into delivery roles, the ICP Product Management and Agile Coaching for Leadership tracks extend the same competency model.
Frequently asked questions
What does the self-assessment measure?
The assessment scores your agile coaching readiness across four areas drawn from the ICAgile coaching competency model: agile mindset and lean thinking, facilitation and teaching, professional coaching and mentoring, and team and technical development. Each question maps to one of these areas, and your total score places you in a readiness band with a recommended learning pathway. It is a reflective tool for self-awareness, not a certification or formal evaluation.
Is the assessment free?
Yes. The self-assessment is completely free and requires no login, email, or payment. It runs entirely in your browser, your answers are not stored or sent anywhere, and you receive your result and a recommended pathway instantly. Agile Visa courses themselves are paid programmes, but the assessment carries no cost.
Which course should I take after the assessment?
Your result suggests a starting point. Foundation-level scores point to the ICP Agile Fundamentals course followed by Agile Team Facilitation. A developing score points to Agile Coaching, which builds professional coaching and mentoring skills. An advanced score points to Coaching Agile Transitions or Enterprise Agile Coaching. Whatever your band, the Public Academy lists every certification with dates and pricing so you can plan a full pathway.
