ICAgile and AI Training in Ghana

Money in Ghana now moves mostly through phones: mobile money handled GH¢4.54 trillion in 2025, according to the Bank of Ghana. Banks, telcos and fintechs ship changes to those services all the time, so the pressure lands on teams that must plan, test and release in short cycles while staying inside central bank rules.

Why teams in Ghana come to us

Mobile money and digital banking

Payments, savings and lending products in Ghana are often built by joint teams from banks, telcos and fintechs, all answering to the Bank of Ghana. When several organisations release changes to the same customer journey, shared habits for planning, risk checks and product decisions matter as much as the code. Agile product and delivery training gives those mixed teams one common way of working.

A national AI strategy with money behind it

Ghana launched its National AI Strategy in Accra in April 2026, covering 2025 to 2035, with US$250 million set aside for a national AI computing centre and plans for a Responsible AI Office. Employers in banking, telecoms and government will be expected to use AI in ways that are safe and explainable. Staff need practical AI literacy and clear rules of use before tools reach customers.

A fast growing pool of new tech talent

Information and communication grew 20.2% in 2025, the fastest part of Ghana's services economy, and the One Million Coders Programme aims to train 300,000 people in 2026 alone. That brings many new coders into the workforce at once. Companies hiring them need team leads and product owners who can turn new joiners into steady, well run delivery teams.

Each seat price covers the live course, all courseware and the ICAgile credential, with no renewal fee afterwards. Two-course combos cost 10% less than buying the two seats separately. For groups of 6 or more, we run a dedicated cohort for your company, with volume pricing.

Funding and paying for training in Ghana

Training in Ghana is mostly paid for by employers. The Ghana Skills Development Fund, a World Bank backed grant scheme run by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), has opened calls for established firms that want to upgrade staff skills, and firms in operation for under three years were not eligible in past rounds. Whether a call is open now, and whether it may help pay for a provider based outside Ghana, is something to check with CTVET. Source.

Class times for Ghana

Public ICAgile certification cohorts are listed in US Eastern and UK time on each course page. Most start at 8 AM US Eastern (1 PM UK time), which is 12 PM in Accra from mid-March to early November and 1 PM from early November to mid-March. Cohorts that start at 12 PM US Eastern begin at 4 PM from mid-March to early November and 5 PM from early November to mid-March.

The ICAgile AI micro-credentials, and a few certification cohorts, run on Singapore time from 1 PM, which is 5 AM in Accra all year.

Company cohorts run in Accra working hours on dates you choose, online or on site in Accra, Tema, Kumasi or Sekondi-Takoradi.

What ICP means, and where to start

ICP stands for ICAgile Certified Professional. The letters after it name the topic, for example ICP-ACC for Agile Coaching. Agile Visa has been an ICAgile Member Organisation since December 2017. Most teams start with ICP, Agile Fundamentals (US$699), or with ICP-FAI, Foundations of AI (US$899).

Where to start, by role

English-speaking West Africa: Sierra Leone, Liberia and The Gambia

Teams in Sierra Leone, Liberia and The Gambia join the same live online cohorts as Ghana and pay in US dollars at checkout. All three work in English and keep GMT all year, just like Accra, so class start times are exactly the same as in Ghana.

How a first engagement usually runs in Ghana

In Ghana a sensible start is one lead cohort drawn from a single product team in a bank, telco or fintech, paired with a short session for the senior leaders who sign off releases, so decisions keep pace with the team. Where staff are spread across Accra, Tema and Kumasi, a train-the-trainer track then lets your own people carry the practice to the other sites.
