What changed when ICAgile became ICA
Most of the change is a new name and a new home online:
- The name. ICAgile is now ICA, short for International Certification Alliance. ICA's About page says the organisation was founded as ICAgile.
- The announcement. On 14 July 2026, ICA announced on LinkedIn that ICAgile would become the International Certification Alliance in September.
- The launch. The new name went live with ICA's launch post on 28 September 2026, US time, which was 29 September in Singapore.
- The website. ica-certified.com is now the main site. icagile.com is still live with an "ICAgile is now ICA" banner, and several of its pages now forward to the new site.
- Digital badges. Badges on Credly are now issued by ICA. Badge names stay the same, for example Agile Coaching.
Why the name changed
ICA explains its reasons in its announcement, home page and FAQ. In plain words:
- Work is changing fast. Organisations need people who can adapt, collaborate, solve complex problems, lead through change and work well alongside technology such as AI.
- People need a wider set of skills. The new name makes room for skills beyond agility while keeping the agile heritage. As ICA's home page puts it: "The world changed. Certification should, too."
- Agility stays the foundation. ICA says it is not moving away from agile, which remains the base for the new skills.
- Tomorrow-Ready means readiness, not prediction. Nobody can predict every future, ICA explains, but readiness is a set of skills you can build on purpose.
What stays the same
If you hold an ICAgile certification or plan to book one, very little changes. ICA's transition guide and FAQ confirm the following.
- Your certification stays valid for life. Existing ICAgile certifications remain valid and recognised. They never expire, there is no renewal fee and there is nothing to retake. Our guide to ICAgile lifetime validity explains more.
- The same agile courses and codes. The agile certifications keep their ICP codes, such as ICP-ACC and ICP-ATF, and they are still accredited. Member Organizations such as Agile Visa still teach them, and ICA says accredited courses can carry on as they are today. Book ICP-ACC now and you earn the same certification as before.
- Verification. Anyone can still check a certificate at icagile.com/verify-credentials, and learner records stay available.
- Booking. You still book through a Member Organization, and each provider sets its own price.
What is new: Tomorrow-Ready skills
Alongside the agile catalogue, ICA launched a new Tomorrow-Ready catalogue. It covers 5 disciplines, 21 skills, 24 certifications and 128 credentials. The disciplines are Agility & Readiness, Value Creation, People Development, Complexity & Change, and Influence & Interpersonal Dynamics.
A Tomorrow-Ready certification combines one core credential with at least two specialized credentials, earned in any order. Each credential also stands on its own as a verified skill. ICA calls a learner's picture of verified skills their SkillPrint. Our guide to ICA Tomorrow-Ready skills has the details.
As of 11 October 2026, ICA's public class finder lists no Tomorrow-Ready classes yet. On 7 October 2026, ICA named 10 Launch Partners and said new classes are on the way.
How ICA, X2A and the Business Agility Institute fit together
In February 2026, ICAgile and the Business Agility Institute (BAI) came together under X2A. ICA describes the three as organisations working as one team, each with its own role.
| Organisation | Role |
|---|---|
| ICA | Learning, skills and certification. ICA sets the standards, accredits courses, authorises instructors and issues certifications. Member Organizations deliver the training. |
| Business Agility Institute | Research and assessments. Its research model of business agility in organisations is now called Tomorrow-Ready DNA. |
| X2A | Targeted capability building, and the entry point to all three. |
ICA and X2A are both trading names of the same company, IC AGILE, LLC, based in California. The X2A FAQ explains the idea: research, learning and applying skills at work do more when they are connected. ICA also says its new skills catalogue loosely aligns with BAI's Tomorrow-Ready DNA research.

Frequently asked questions
Why did ICAgile change its name to ICA?

What does ICA stand for?
ICA stands for International Certification Alliance, ICAgile's new name since September 2026. ICAgile stood for International Consortium for Agile. This ICA is not Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority, which uses the same letters.
Is ICA the same organisation as ICAgile?
Yes. ICA is ICAgile under a new name, not a new body. It is still an independent accreditation and certification body, and its Member Organizations run the classes.
When did ICAgile become ICA?
ICA announced the change on LinkedIn on 14 July 2026. The new name went live on 28 September 2026, US time, which was 29 September in Singapore.
Are ICAgile certifications still valid after the name change?
Yes. ICA says existing ICAgile certifications stay valid and recognised. They never expire, there is no renewal fee and there is nothing to retake. Anyone can still verify a certificate at icagile.com/verify-credentials.
What are Tomorrow-Ready skills?
Tomorrow-Ready is ICA's new catalogue of workplace skills, with 5 disciplines, 21 skills, 24 certifications and 128 credentials. Each certification combines one core credential with at least two specialized credentials. ICA says readiness is a set of skills you can build on purpose.
How are ICA, X2A and the Business Agility Institute related?
They work as one team under X2A. ICA covers learning and certification, the Business Agility Institute covers research and assessments, and X2A covers capability building. ICA and X2A are both trading names of IC AGILE, LLC.
Can I still book an ICAgile certification course?
Yes. Agile certifications such as ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF and ICP-APO are still accredited and taught by ICA Member Organizations, including Agile Visa. You earn the same certification as before. See all our ICAgile certifications.
