What is a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt?

A Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt knows the basics of Lean and Six Sigma well enough to improve their own work and to support a Green Belt project. They can spot the eight wastes, map a process, collect simple data and take part in a Kaizen. It is the usual first belt for frontline staff, supervisors and support teams.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training cost?

We run it as a private class for your company and quote per group, not per seat. Tell us the number of people, the format and where they are, and we will send a quotation. Any certification exam fee is shown on its own line.

How long is Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt?

2 days / 14 hours, live and instructor-led, online in your working hours or on site at your premises.

Who delivers the training?

Prashant Shinde, founder of Agile Visa, with 20+ years of delivery and 75,000+ professionals trained across 140+ countries. He earned the 6sigmastudy Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Six Sigma Green Belt in 2016.

Can our company use a training levy or fund?

In Malaysia, programmes delivered by Agile Visa Sdn Bhd are HRD Corp claimable for eligible employers, subject to HRD Corp approval: see Lean Six Sigma training in Malaysia. Elsewhere, companies usually pay from their training budget, and we provide the quotation, invoice and attendance records your own approval process needs.

What is the difference between Lean and Six Sigma?

Lean removes waste and delay, such as waiting, rework and extra steps. Six Sigma uses data to cut errors and variation. Lean Six Sigma uses both, and a Yellow Belt learns the basics of each.

Do Yellow Belts need statistics?

Very little. You will use check sheets, Pareto charts and run charts, in Excel or on paper. No statistics background is needed.

Can we train a whole department?

Yes. Each class takes up to 25 people so everyone works on a real process, and larger departments run as several classes.

Can the Yellow Belt run online?

Yes, live online with the trainer. In-house works best for the factory simulation and the Kaizen, because the team can walk the process together.

Is Lean Six Sigma certification recognised internationally?

There is no single official body for Lean Six Sigma anywhere in the world. Employers look at who issued the certificate, whether the exam was independent and supervised, and whether the person completed a real project. Our courses give you a real project and an Agile Visa certificate of completion, and an independent exam when you want one.
