Why Malaysian manufacturers are upskilling now
Three policy shifts that reach the plant floor.
NIMP 2030: tech up
MITI's New Industrial Master Plan 2030 includes the mission "Tech up for a digitally vibrant nation". Plants need people who can use data, automation and AI on real production problems, not only a digital team.
NIMP 2030: push for net zero
Another NIMP 2030 mission is "Push for Net Zero". That puts energy use and emissions on the plant agenda, next to output, quality and cost.
CBAM for EU exporters
The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism has applied in its definitive regime since 1 January 2026. It covers imports of iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, electricity and hydrogen, and EU importers must report the carbon emissions embedded in those goods. For Malaysian steel and aluminium exporters to the EU, plant emissions data is now a business issue.

Steel, E&E and pharmaceutical plants
Suggested starting points. Your Training Needs Analysis sets the final mix.
Steel and metals
Iron, steel and aluminium are inside CBAM's scope. Start with Carbon Accounting and Scope 1, 2 and 3 Emissions for the people who will own the numbers. Add Reliability Centred Maintenance and Asset Management and Process Safety and Risk Assessment Fundamentals for teams that run heavy equipment and hazardous processes.
Electrical and electronics (E&E)
Yield, qualification and engineering change drive the day in E&E plants. Pair AI for Manufacturing with Statistical Process Control for Supervisors and Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action. Engineers who lead improvement projects can add the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Semiconductor teams can also see AI-native Agile for Penang semiconductor.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing
Pharmaceutical plants run on a documented quality system. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action, Internal Quality Auditor Skills and Statistical Process Control for Supervisors support that discipline. These are general quality programmes, not GMP certification courses. See also training for hospitals and pharma.
How a programme runs
- Training Needs Analysis first. We start with a Training Needs Analysis so the programme targets your real capability gaps.
- On site or online. Programmes run on site at your premises anywhere in Malaysia, or online for teams across several locations. Content is tailored to your tools, your processes and the work your people already do.
- Certificates. ICAgile programmes lead to an ICAgile certification. Other programmes award an Agile Visa Certificate of Completion. Every programme includes full digital courseware and post-course support.
- Trainers. AI, Agile and leadership programmes are led by founder Prashant Shinde, an ICAgile accredited trainer and HRD Corp Accredited Trainer. Your proposal names the trainer for every programme.
Built for HRD Corp registered employers
Every programme is designed for in-house delivery around your real projects. Agile Visa Sdn Bhd is an HRD Corp registered Training Provider and its programmes are HRD Corp claimable under SBL-Khas for eligible employers. Claims are subject to HRD Corp approval and the Allowable Cost Matrix, and the grant application must be submitted before training begins. See how HRD Corp and SBL-Khas funding works.
- Check eligibility. Registered employers with 10 or more Malaysian employees contribute a 1% payroll levy, and that levy builds a balance you can use for approved training. Confirm your registration and levy balance first.
- Agree the programme. We share the programme details your grant application needs.
- Apply before training begins. Submit the SBL-Khas grant application on the HRD Corp portal before the first day of training.
- Train, then claim. Run the training, then submit the claim within 6 months of completion.
Step by step: the SBL-Khas claim flow.
What an engagement can look like
Multi-site AI coaching for a Penang semiconductor group shows how a programme is phased across several sites. It is an engagement archetype, not a named client.
Questions manufacturers ask
Is manufacturing training with Agile Visa HRD Corp claimable?
Yes.
Do you run lean and Six Sigma training in Malaysia?
Yes. Lean Fundamentals and Waste Elimination, the Value Stream Mapping Workshop, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement Facilitation and the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt run as private cohorts for your team, on site anywhere in Malaysia or online.
Is the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt a belt certification?
Certification is optional. The course is delivered by Agile Visa, not on behalf of any certifying body, and every participant receives an Agile Visa Certificate of Completion. Participants who want a belt certificate can take the free online 6sigmastudy Six Sigma Yellow Belt exam after the course. The Green and Black Belt courses offer an optional independent, supervised exam.
Does CBAM affect Malaysian manufacturers?
It can, if you export the goods it covers to the EU. Since 1 January 2026 the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism has applied in its definitive regime to imports of iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, electricity and hydrogen. Our carbon accounting programme teaches how to measure emissions. It is not CBAM compliance advice.
Is your quality training GMP certified for pharmaceutical plants?
No. Our quality programmes cover quality management systems, root cause analysis, internal audit and statistical process control. They support a documented quality system but are not GMP certification courses.
Can the training run at our plant?
Yes. Programmes run on site at your premises anywhere in Malaysia, or online for teams across several sites.
What language is the training delivered in?
Delivered in English. Trainers for Arabic, Spanish, Bahasa Malaysia, German or French can be arranged for company cohorts on request.
